Freed & Reduced Meals

At this time, school meals will not be free for the 2022-2023 school year.

Why aren’t school meals free in the 2022-2023 school year?
During the pandemic, the USDA knew many people found themselves struggling financially. They did not want school food to be a concern for families. So, at the time they passed waivers allowing all students to have free breakfast and lunch.

As things are slowly getting back to normal, as of today, Congress has not extended these waivers. As a result, the Huntsville School District will be returning to free, reduced, and regularly priced meals.

Full Price breakfast $1.35
Full Price lunch $2.75 (Grades K-5)
Full Price lunch $2.85 (Grades 6-12)
Reduced breakfast $0.30
Reduced lunch $0.40

Please include all household members in one application. You must complete a new application even if you have completed an application in the past school year. Applications are only valid for one school year.
