π In Mrs. Watkinsβ 8th grade ELA class, students tackled the essential question: βHow can appearances be deceiving?β Using a Venn diagram, they compared The Worst Roommate Ever and The Landlady to uncover surprising similarities and differences. Thoughtful discussions filled the room! β¨

**βUpdate on our 6th grade Math project! ππ Thanks to the generosity of the Huntsville Masonic Temple, our students not only calculated surface area but also wrapped the toys themselves to be donated to kids in our community. βοΈπ
This project has been such a special way to combine learning with giving back, and weβre proud of the heart our school shows in serving others. π A huge thank you to Mr. Foster for having the vision to make this happen! Some of our Outdoor Ed and 6th grade science students had a blast last Thursday exploring the Arkansas Game and Fish mobile aquarium! ππ This traveling exhibit gave them an up-close look at fish and aquatic habitats found right here in Arkansas. Hands-on learning made for such a fun and memorable day! Thanks Mr. Henry for setting this event up!

Our School Counselor, Mrs. Brown, joined all 7th grade Science classes to teach a guidance lesson on Emotional Regulation and Utilizing Coping Skills! Students learned about the Feelings Thermometer, brain development, and mental wellness. After the lesson, students played Coping Skills BINGO and won fun prizes!




Our 7th grade Honors Science students are diving into natural hazards! πͺοΈπ They explored weather stations and how scientists use data to predict hurricanes. Impressive work from this group of future problem-solvers!

On Friday, Mr. Taylorβs Computer Aided Design/Architecture students had the amazing opportunity to tour the historic Faubus House in Huntsville, guided by the E. Fay Jones Conservancy. π‘β¨
Designed in 1967 by world-renowned architect Fay Jones for former Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus, this masterpiece is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home is a stunning example of Modern Organic architectureβblending seamlessly with the land, featuring local fieldstone, floor-to-ceiling glass, and even a dramatic catwalk cantilevered over the bluff.

Our Popsicle Party last Thursday was poppinβ! ππ It was the first team challenge of the year, and the winners in each grade level earned a sweet reward. Nothing better than working hard and playing hard together! π
