I have an amazing husband, Tyler and our daughter, Madison, will be joining me on the hill this year as a 6th grader! When I am not working, you will find me in the side by side exploring trails, binge watching Netflix or reading a book.

"Hi! My name is Shanna Stephens. I have worked at the middle school for the past 1.5 years as a paraprofessional, but I am very excited to enter my new role as secretary this school year.

My husband and I have 3 kids and as a family we enjoy going to the lake and being outdoors. Our oldest, Wyatt, will be joining me on the hill this year as a 6th grader- we are both excited for this school year!"

Hi, my name is Tracy Bennett. I was born and raised in Huntsville, Arkansas and have been teaching here for the past 7 years. I taught 2 years in 1st grade and 5 years in self-contained K-2 at Watson Primary. I am excited to start my new position as the 6th grade special education teacher. This will be my 14 year of teaching.
I have one daughter, Gabby, who is in the 8th grade this year. She is a competitive swimmer, so we spend all of our extra time at the pool and meets.
My husband, Daniel, works for the city of Huntsville. We love working in the community that we grew up in.
I am very excited to join the middle school campus this year and look forward to working with the wonderful students, families, and staff.

Reminder: Chromebook pick-up will be Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th from 12pm-6pm. This will be in the main building. There is a $20 chromebook insurance fee and a $10 class fee. We are excited to see you there!

Continuous improvement begins with continuous learning. Mrs. Cartmell and Mrs. Downum are investing in professional learning this week at AAEA, strengthening their leadership and bringing back ideas that will help our teams grow, collaborate, and ensure high levels of learning for every student.
