🍿🎃 Our HMS Builders Club had a poppin’ good time on the square last night handing out popcorn to all the trick-or-treaters! We love seeing our students spreading smiles and serving our community in fun ways! 💙🦅 #HMSPride #BuildersClub #CommunitySpirit

Time for a team challenge! 🎉

🧵✂️ Our FCSI students in Mrs. Beaver's class have been putting their new skills to the test! After mastering sewing vocabulary and learning the parts of a sewing machine, they practiced threading needles, tying knots, and using a running stitch on paper templates before creating their very own beanbag chickens! 🐥💛
Each project turned out adorable — and our students not only walked away with a fun creation but also valuable life skills in hand sewing! 👏

💡✨ It’s NEON DAY at HMS! ✨💡
Our halls were glowing bright as students showed their Red Ribbon Week spirit by wearing their brightest colors to shine a light on making positive choices! 🌟💚💛💗🧡
We love seeing our Eagles stand out and stand up for a drug-free future! 💪

❤️🎉 To celebrate Wear Red Day, our scholars passed out Red Ribbon Week bookmarks and pencils to their classmates! ✏️📖
HMS was RED-y to have a fun and spirited Thursday! 🔴🙌 #RedRibbonWeek #HMSProud #WeAreREDy

🇺🇸 Mrs. Prince’s 7th Grade Social Studies class set sail into history! ⚓️
After studying the events leading up to the American Revolution, students learned about the Boston Tea Party and how colonists protested by dumping tea into the harbor. Then, they put their knowledge to the test by designing and building boats that could float with 28 bottles of tea onboard! 🚢💡
What a creative way to make history come alive! 👏 #HMSProud

🪨 Mr. Williams’ 7th grade science students reviewed their assessments on the rock cycle, weathering, erosion, and deposition! Through reflection and discussion, they strengthened their understanding of how these natural processes shape and transform our planet — all in preparation for their next assessment on Tuesday! 🌍💬

🧬 Our 6th grade scientists in Mrs. Cotton's class are diving into genetics! Students are learning how traits are passed down by practicing Punnett squares — predicting possible outcomes and discovering just how fascinating heredity can be! 🌱👩🔬👨🔬

🏫 Mrs. Reeves’ social studies students are mastering content in a fun way — by designing their own vocabulary review games! Hands-on learning helps concepts stick, and these students are proving it. 💪 #LearningInAction #HMSPride

🇺🇸 Our 7th grade social studies students took learning to the next level with a strategic game of Colonists vs. British! Using a fun twist on “Dots and Boxes,” students put their knowledge of the American Revolution to the test while thinking like true strategists. 🎯🧠 #InteractiveLearning #SocialStudies #HMSPride

👏 Our 6th Grade Student Council Representatives and Officers pledged to be Tobacco Free! 🍕 Thanks to the Madison County Health Coalition for providing pizza and fun giveaways for this awesome group of young leaders. 🌟
We’re so proud of our scholars for setting the example and leading the way toward a Tobacco Free campus and community! 💙 #StudentLeaders #TobaccoFree #HMSPride

🥞 Our FCSI students have been busy in the kitchen putting their learning to the test—literally! Yesterday, they experimented with different ingredients to observe how each one affects texture, taste, and appearance. Mrs. Beaver helped them use that knowledge to make pancakes from scratch—and even made a special one for Mr. Taylor, who enjoyed every bite! 👨🍳👏

🚴♂️ Our students are doing great things through the Riding for Focus (R4F) program! Mr. Taylor leads this initiative which brings cycling into the school day—helping students build confidence, improve focus, and boost overall well-being. 🌟
Congratulations to Brannon Waltrip who set a new school record at 11:59! Brannon shows what strong riding is all about during Ride for Focus. Way to conquer the hill!!

🌎 Mrs. Reeves’ social studies students got creative yesterday by writing haikus that connected to their lessons! It was a fun and meaningful way to bring literacy into history. ✍️📖 #SocialStudies #CreativeLearning
